Bride and Groom’s names: Priya and Jake Moore
Location of the wedding: Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort
Photographer: Focused on Forever
ST: What was your vision for your wedding?
PM: I always wanted a small wedding, with our closest family and friends. A destination wedding was always my dream, accompanied by great food, great company, and a great dance floor. My dream came true with our beautiful destination wedding in West Palm Beach, Florida, overlooking the ocean at sunset. It was perfect!
ST: What was the most magical or memorable part of your day?
PM: My sister surprised my husband and I by singing the song L.O.V.E at our wedding reception during her maid of honor speech. It meant so much to us that she took singing lessons, and worked so hard to make our big day even more memorable.
ST: Why did you choose your wedding/reception dress from Silk Threads?
PM: Silk Threads has one of a kind designs that always make your jaw drop, because all of Ruby’s designs are just that beautiful. My dress was everything I could have ever wanted, and added a unique component to my wedding. Not to mention, all of my bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning, along with my mom and grandmother who were all wearing Silk Threads designs. I would recommend Ruby to anyone!
ST: Anything else you would like to add?
PM: Thank you, Silk Threads, for creating the perfect attire for our wedding. All of our photographs turned out to be better than we could have ever hoped!
Thank you Priya and Pat – we loved working with you!
What are the latest Indian Bridal trends?

We were looking at some of the recent bridal trends, and saw a somewhat odd trend around mix & matching bridesmaids dresses.
Even though it sounds counter-intuitive, and we have never received an order to make mix & match bridesmaids dresses, we can see some positive (and some negative) points around the trend.
On the plus side, you could allow the bridesmaids to use their existing dresses collecting dust in their closets – which means, they already fit, are (hopefully) based on their body type, and with minimal expense, you will earn their eternal gratitude.
However, think of the downsides – do you as the bride really want to do color-matching for all the possible combinations – which, if at all possible, can be take precious time. In addition, if they have different embroideries or variations, that adds additional complexity…
Think of the possible effect on the pictures or videos for your lifetime memories…
What do you think?
What do I do with this Bridesmaid dress or Saree?

1. What was your vision for your wedding?
Our vision for our wedding was simple and elegant. We wanted to preserve as much Indian tradition as possible while still adding a whimsical and romantic element to it. With the help of our vendors, and most of all, our parents, we were really able to put together a series of events that depicted our relationship and our vision for the wedding very well.
2. What was the most magical or memorable part of your day?
For us, the moment after the ceremony
when we first looked at each other as husband and wife was very special. It just felt like everything came together at that one moment: all the months of planning, the years of long distance, and all the anticipation leading up to it. It was what we had been waiting for, to finally share our lives together as husband and wife. Of course, we can’t forget our reception. Enjoying those moments with our close friends and family who came from all over the world just to celebrate us was so much fun and something we will never forget.
3. Why did you choose your wedding/reception dress from Silk Threads?
Jaspreet has known Ruby & Raj for a long time and she is a family friend. Jaspreet’s mom has worked with Ruby for quite some time as well. So, when it was time to buy outfits for our wedding it was our first instinct to go to Silk Threads. Picking the outfits for the wedding is a stressful process so it was important for us to go to someone we can trust and whose designs we loved. Silk Threads fulfilled both of those criterion.
Thank you Roshni & Jaspreet, and congratulations again! (p.s We loved all the wedding functions!)

Bride & groom’s names: Pallavi Hirani and Manbir Singh
Location of the wedding: Dallas and Houston

Our vision was having a memorable and fun filled weekend with our family and friends by our side. I as the bride wanted a royal blue and gold theme for our reception since I love peacock colors!
The most magical part about our day was was the first time we made eye contact right after the Anand Kaaraj. That was probably the best feeling I have ever had.
Choosing our wedding ensembles from silk threads was only natural, as I have considered Ruby didi family for years and the fact that I have only ever worn Silk Threads.
I was more than happy with all my outfits and wouldn’t have changed anything even if I had to do it all over again!
Silk Threads is a one stop shop and Ruby didi will work with you and make you feel like the most beautiful bride from head to toe!
Thank you Pallavi and Manbir for your comments, and Congratulations again!

We are so excited to hear such wonderful words from one of our customers! Sunny Patel, a doctoral student, came to us with a vision for her reception outfit.
She was able to explain to us the stresses with any wedding and what comes with planning a wedding – but she made it very clear it’s all about looking at the big picture…
Sunny and her husband had four days full of wedding festivities over multiple locations and they had their reception at the Omni West in Dallas.
She told to me the hardest part of wedding planning for her was trying to plan a wedding in Dallas while her husband lived in California!
“This posed logistical obstacles as you can imagine. Another hard part during the planning process was to imagine how everything would come together at the end. You meet with all the vendors and artists individually and plan for months and months and somewhere during that process it’s easy to lose the big picture.”Like what you see? Email us!
Sunny told us her favorite part of their wedding was when they were able to get a glimpse of their reception hall before anyone else.
“It was amazing to see how everything came together and how beautiful the hall looked! To top it off, the videographer played the instant edit on the screens for us while my husband and I were in the hall and it made us stop in our tracks and recap the beautiful weekend with each other.”
Their reception colors were inspired by fall and winter colors with a touch of elegance. Their main color was blue and added hints of pinks, reds, and blushes to add some depth. She wanted to keep this color throughout her entire wedding from their wedding website all the way to her reception outfit!
Sunny told us she had been searching for a reception outfit that had the perfect mix of, “embroider[ies] [which is ] symbolic of the South Asian culture coupled with contemporary elements such as a ball gown silhouette. My family and I made many visits to numerous bridal boutiques spanning several cities (Dallas, Houston, Chicago). However, it took only one visit to Silk Threads boutique to realize that my vision would, after all, come true.”
She wanted her entire outfit to stick with her blue theme, hence her entire outfit being teal-blue with a great ombre effect. Ruby wanted to make sure the outfit had some drama to it so she added a red border to give a great pop of color and of course, tulle. The tulle gave her outfit a very chic ball gown feel, but still had a traditional look by it’s designs.
“It was a perfect balance of tradition as well as had a contemporary feel to it. The detail on the lehenga with charming motifs made of intricate thread work and strategically placed stones gave it an elegant feel. The fabric was comfortable and breathable and I found myself exuding an air of confidence and feeling comfortable all throughout my reception. I also liked how the outfit had just the right amount of red in it so it was not overpowering (which is considered a symbolic color” in South Asian weddings).”
We asked Sunny if she had any advice for upcoming brides and she emphasized it’s really important to not lose yourself through the planning process.
“If you and your groom want to include snippets of your personality in the different aspects of the wedding, I say go for it! After all, this is your wedding and it should be a reflection you as a couple.”
“Finally, on the day of your wedding just try to relax and take in the moment. Everything may not be perfect and if it’s not do not worry because YOU will be the only person to notice! Therefore, just look at the big picture and have a good time!”
Sunny told her us her only requirement for their honeymoon is for it be on a beach!
Congratulations Sunny and we wish you two the best in your future endeavors.
Here are some great images of her outfit we made her! Thank you Z Molu Photography for the images!

A classic Indian wedding that honored the traditions of our family, combined with our upbringing in the US.
